Description

A valuable contribution to the Cornish languages early years of revival. Robert Victor Walling had been injured in France in the First World War and lay in hospital studying and writing in the Cornish language. This book includes facsimiles of Walling’s magazine, An Houlsedhas, produced in three issues from his sickbed and never before seen by the public. There is an English translation and notes by Cornish language bard Dr Stephen Gadd (Reskadinnick) and a biography by former Grand Bard Ann Trevenen Jenkin (Bryallen).

“This is a superb publication. The content is fascinating. There is so much material in it that I, and I am sure many others, was totally unaware of.  I’m delighted that it will now be accessible to so many other Cornish speakers and to Celtic scholars world-wide.” – Gareth Parry (Mab Meliner Gwlan)
